Freightliner’s proprietary system, utilizing Stoneridge’s MirrorEye technology, uses external cameras and in-cab digital monitors to provide increased side visibility and safety. When integrated with Detroit Assurance, the factory-installed MirrorCam System improves driver visibility, minimizes driver fatigue, and contributes to a safer driving experience.
The advanced Intelligent Braking Control System brings together service brakes powered by brake-by-wire technology with pneumatic backup, resulting in smoother, more confident braking, especially in sudden stops. Deceleration with Comfort Braking provides equal brake force distribution, resulting in more even lining wear. Also included is the new electronic park brake, which helps to mitigate roll-away incidents and is automatically engaged if forgotten when the driver’s door is opened at two miles per hour or less, or when the ignition is keyed off and the driver leaves the driver seat for more than three seconds.
The Dual Stage Intelligent LED Headlights increase visibility, providing 30% greater coverage than the previous model. They’re engineered to melt away ice in cold environments and eliminate condensation in minutes with no driver intervention required. Impact-resistance tested, these headlights also help improve safety, driver comfort, and uptime.

Active Brake Assist 6 (ABA6) brings all-new short- and long-range radars, a new camera and new software to increase the variety of scenarios and conditions the system is able to react to, helping mitigate more potential collisions and improve uptime. ABA6 includes full braking on moving and stationary pedestrians, bicyclists, and vehicles, as well as new automatic emergency braking capabilities, including:
Side Guard Assist 2 alerts drivers to vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists in both driver- and passenger-side blind spots. The system warns the driver before making a turn or lane change through visual and audible warnings.
Active Side Guard Assist builds on SGA2 by applying braking at speeds less than 12 mph if no corrective action is taken to address passenger-side alerts. This industry-leading technology helps prevent a truck from making a right turn into a moving cyclist or pedestrian.
The newest generation of Active Lane Assist, ALA2, delivers next level safety and driver comfort with the introduction of the Lane Change Assist feature, which intentionally steers the truck back into its lane if attempting to enter an occupied lane to its right or left at speeds greater than 37 mph, even if the turn signal is applied. ALA2 also includes Attentive Driver Protection, a system that helps in the event the driver becomes unable to perform or respond by actively bringing the truck to a stop while keeping it in its lane.
When stopped or at low speeds, four short-range radar units detect any crossing or stationary pedestrians and bicyclists in front of the truck. If detected, this passive system uses visual and audible alerts to warn the driver of the risk once it starts moving, helping to avoid incidents and improve safety.
